Terms and Conditions

Our standard terms and conditions of work:

1 All rates are exclusive of Value Added Tax

​

2a Payments. If the work shall consist of progressive erection, hire, alterations and dismantle of a scaffold structure, in relation to the progress of a main contract for the construction, repair or maintenance of any work or building, the first payment shall be due not later than one month after the date of scaffold commencement or such other date as may be agreed between the parties and monthly thereafter.

2b When the work consists of a single operation (such as the erection and hire of a scaffold to an existing building or buildings) the owner shall submit to the Hirers an invoice on completion of the erection and the Hirers shall pay to the Owners the amount due no later than 30 days after the date of the invoice. After the expiration of the minimum period of hire the payment of continuing hire charges shall be made at the rate specified in the quotation.

Equipment prices are based on a minimum hire period of 4 weeks unless the quote states otherwise.

 

Periods of hire begin on the first delivery and ends on the last collection. 

​

Where a hire period is stated no credit can be offered for a reduction in the period of use.

​

The responsibility for loss or damage to our equipment outside of the control of Rise Scaffold Services Ltd rests with the client.

​

The offer is open for acceptance as a whole and component elements thereof cannot be considered individually. 

​

The offer is open for acceptance for a period of 60 days from the submission.

​

The offer is based on a 40 hour week (Monday-Friday) unless specifically stated otherwise to the contrary.

​

10 Work which necessitates the erection of scaffold from existing finished surfaces, especially roof coverings, will be carried out only consequent upon full acceptance of our quotation which shall leave Rise Scaffold Services Ltd free from any obligation regarding damage to such finished surfaces, save only that Rise Scaffold Services Ltd shall take reasonable steps to prevent any damage, such steps being limited to the provision and placement of adequate sole boards. 

​

11 The scaffold is to be used for the purpose described and must not be overloaded or the number of lifts exceeded.

​

12 The Hirer will ensure all necessary permissions have been obtained from the Local Authority, that any necessary Building Notices have been submitted in accordance with regulations and that we have been informed of this in writing before commencement of any work. This includes any necessary road closure.

 

13 We regretfully cannot accept responsibility for damage that may occur to signs, although every possible care will be taken.

​

14 Please ensure the power supply to electric/neon signs is turned off during the erection and dismantling of the scaffold.

​

15 We must receive written notification that any overhead power cables are harmless before we commence work on the scaffold.

​

16 The Hirer has arranged all necessary safeguards with the Electrical Authority. The cut-out times are to be confirmed to us in writing before work commences.

​

17 We regretfully cannot accept responsibility for damage that may occur to cultivated areas, although every possible care will be taken.

​

18 The quotation is based on the measurements provided by the Hirer and is therefore subject to a site inspection and measurement.

​

19 The quoted price is based on the understanding that we will have use of the Hirer's equipment, such as a crane, hoist, etc. at the agreed times during erection and dismantle.

​

20 It is understood by the Hirer that the mechanical plant included in this quotation is hired and therefore subject to them accepting the conditions imposed by the owners. No responsibility or delay will be accepted by us, should the equipment break down. The hire period of the plant commences on the delivery date and ceases upon final collection.

​

21 It is understood by the Hirer that the mechanical plant required will be supplied by them.

​

22 We supply the base lift only. The Hirer is responsible for completing erection, full dismantling and loading onto our transportation, therefore the Hirer is responsible for the security of our materials. Any losses will be invoiced to the Hirer.

​

23 The quotation is based upon the assumption that work will be within normal working hours. Any work required outside of these hours will be additionally invoiced to the Hirer.

​

24 Sufficient, secure storage for our materials is provided at all times, within reasonable distance of the scaffold site.

​

25 Suitable access for our delivery transportation is provided, enabling the material to be offloaded and re-loaded within 10 meters of the scaffold site. If a greater distance is involved, an additional charge will be made.

​

26 The Hirer will ensure the security of the scaffold at all times, preventing unauthorised access.

​

27 Please remove the satellite dish from the building before we commence erection of the scaffold. It is your responsibility to replace it afterwards. If you do not remove it, we cannot accept responsibility for any damage.

​

28 None of our materials are fire retardant, unless specifically stated in the quotation.

​

29 We will provide, fix and remove all temporary lighting.

​

30 The Hirer is to provide, fix and remove all temporary lighting.

​

31 There is no allowance for holidays during the hire period.

​

32The Hirer will provide us with full site welfare, without charge.

​

33 This quotation is based upon current regulations and legislation. Should these or any working practices change, any resulting extra work or provision will be invoiced as appropriate.

​

34 The hire period stated in the quotation denotes the minimum length of the contract. There will be no refund for any remaining hire period.

​

35 No lightning conductors have been allowed for.

​

36 This quotation reflects a budget price only and is subject to a site survey.

​

37 Payment is to be received within thirty days of the invoice date.

​

38 The Hirer is to ensure that we are provided with a firm and level base for our scaffold that will not settle under the selfweight plus the design loads imposed. The base is to extend at least 300mm outside the scaffold. If timbers larger than 2" scaffold boards are required, these are to be provided by the Hirers.

​

39 The Hirers will remove and replace areas of the roof tiles, sheets and/or glass so that standards have a ground base, including carrying out security measures and weather protection.

​

40 The Hirers are to ensure that the pavement/base supporting our scaffold is adequate to carry the weight of the scaffold structure plus the design imposed load. No foundations or propping scaffold below the pavement/base level is included.

​

41 Single scaffold boards used as sole boards/plates have been provided for. If this is not sufficient for the ground conditions, you will be additionally invoiced.

​

42 To comply with construction regulations and EN 12811-1, the scaffold must be tied to a permanent structure at recommended intervals. It is the Hirer's responsibility to obtain or give permission for us to fix a sufficient number of ties and to ensure they are not tampered with or removed before the scaffold is dismantled.

​

43 No responsibility can be accepted for any damage caused by fixing or using ties or other anchorages. The Hirer is to make good if necessary.

​

44 The Hirer is to provide the requisite licence before commencement of work. If the requirement imposes additional expense for us (working out of normal hours or providing additional protection) we will charge extra to cover these expenses. The Hirer is responsible for providing, fixing, maintaining and removing suitable lighting and any signs required by the Local Authority. If required, the Hirer must provide, place and remove a bulk timber fender or similar.

45 We will provide the requisite licence before commencement of work and reserve the right to charge extra to cover expenses if the requirement imposes additional expense for us (working out of normal hours or providing additional protection). The Hirer is responsible for providing, fixing, maintaining and removing suitable lighting and any signs required by the Local Authority. If required, the Hirer must provide, place and remove a bulk timber fender or similar.

46 We regretfully cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by or arising from working off this roof, although every possible care will be taken.

​

47 Although every possible care will be taken, we would advise you to add a provisional sum to cover the cost of any possible damage to the tile or slate after the scaffold has been removed.

​

48 The Hirer will ensure that the roof safely supports the weight of the scaffold structure plus the design imposed load. We regretfully cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by or arising from working off this fragile roof, although every possible care will be taken.

​

49 The Hirer is fully responsible for the protection of the roof and therefore any damage.

​

50 If scaffold boards were tied down by us, due to extreme conditions, the Hirer must ensure the boards are re-tied after any subsequent movement.

​

51 The Hirer will supply their own boards which comply with current EU regulations. The quotation includes us laying one lift of boards, once only.

​

52 The Hirer will move and place the boards as required, after our initial placement, ensuring current EU regulations are adhered to.

​

53 A single lift birdcage requires additional bracing and foot ties for stability, in accordance with EN 12811-1. This subsequently requires more material and is reflected in the quotation.

 

54 A protection fan is for protective purposes only and should not be loaded out or used as an access scaffold.

​

55 The Hirer will provide the initial setting out positions for the lift shaft uprights, before erection is commenced.

​

56 The Hirer is to ensure that suitable spreaders are provided for spreading the loads and they are not transmitted directly onto our loading towers. Materials should be progressively moved to avoid overloading.

 

57 The quotation is based upon the assumption that there will not be toxic or inflammable substances present for the duration of the contract. The Hirer will ensure this is the case and obtain any necessary permits or certifications.

​

58 The Hirer will provide any required protective equipment and ensure regular safety checks are carried out. Where protective clothing is required, our quotation reflects the consequences of working under such conditions.

​

59 The quotation does not include any water management.

​

60 The quotation allows for the roof to stand during winter.

​

61 This quotation allows for the roof to stand in summer only. Should the contract period over-extend, the structure will need reinforcing for winter. This will be charged as required.

​

62 We cannot guarantee that the temporary roof will be completely watertight, despite every care being taken. We cannot accept responsibility for any resulting damage.

​

63 The necessary plan and ledger bracing has been included in this quotation, as required for the access scaffold that the temporary roof is built off of.

​

64 The rubbish chute is designed for general building debris. Bulky items must first be cut down. Additional maintenance or adaptation to the chute, after initial placement, is undertaken at an additional cost to the Hirer.

​

65 The quotation includes the hire only of extra boards therefore the Hirer is responsible for off-loading, placing and removing the boards as required. The Hirer is responsible for the use of the boards and any damage will be charged at list price for the materials.

​

66 The quotation includes the hire only of the additional items therefore the Hirer is responsible for off-loading, placing and removing the items as required. The Hirer is responsible for the use of the items and any damage will be charged at list price for the materials.

​

67No additional items such as protective sheeting, debris netting, etc. may be fixed to our scaffolding without our written permission.
